Our environment has been adapted to incorporate the 7 areas of learning provided by the Foundation Phase Curriculum. We have open areas of learning which includes; a story corner, construction area, role play, craft, maths and small world. The children can access these areas freely throughout the day to gather first hand experiences and learn and develop through play. Our environment is fun, exciting, stimulating and safe and develops natural curiosity to explore.
We have our very own soft play centre on site with designated areas for both under and over 2’s. This allows the children to develop both their gross and fine motor skills and provides a space for challenge and exploration.
We have a designated space for children under 2 where they can explore in a homely and caring environment. Children have access to all areas of learning and development but also have the opportunity to explore the over 2's provision. In our under 2's area we have created a comfortable and cosy space where the children can sleep and relax.
We are passionate about outdoor learning and endeavour to spend as much time outdoors as possible. The benefits of learning outside are endless and we believe that there are no objections in what our natural environment can provide for us. We are currently developing our own onsite outdoor space to utilise alongside our adventures to enable us to be outside even more.
We run weekly wilderness sessions and we are lucky enough to be able to access the beach and the woods daily. We feel that providing children with the opportunity to explore the world around us will not only encourage an understanding of how our world works, but also encourage independence, risk taking and most importantly - an appreciation of nature.
